it’s funny, a lot of my friends (and even i) regret cutting our hair like crazy. it’s been almost 2 years that i’ve been trying to grow my hair back out, but now when i look at pictures of me with short hair i might have actually looked better.
what i’m basically trying to say is that personally i think you look better with short hair (i’ve seen you on tr) but i can understand your feeling of wanting to kick yourself for cutting it.
Before I grew my hair out, I had short hair for 7 or 8 years, and when it was long I would often look at old pictures of myself with short hair and really want it again! I think I look better with short hair as well, but I also think people just want the opposite of what they have a lot of the time. Especially when it comes to things like hair!
My hair in high school was to the small of my back, but I was a loser and wore it in a ponytail EVERY FREAKIN’ DAY! Also, I didn’t know what a hair straightener was, so it was totally frizzed to shit and looked AWFUL.
I cut it to my shoulders after graduation in ’02, then gradually went shorter. Right now, I desperately need a haircut again (to go back to the pixie-ish length I had a few months ago), but am too poor to afford it.
I look at pictures of me with even above-the-shoulder, semi-short hair and think, “that looks AWFUL; too long – go away!”
Last August I cut and dyed my long(middle of my upper arm) golden hair into a espresso brown super short girl mohawk. Its been almost a year and I still bounce between loving my new hair and being convinced no one will ever love me, but at the end of the day I’m glad I cut it. It takes a surprising amount of bravery to cut your hair.
Also that coat is absolutly fabulous, do you mind if I ask where you got it?

i think there’s just something nice about long hair, sort of like a security blanket.
